Chemical Free Home Workshop – Bangkok Thailand

We had a wonderful time this week at our Chemical Free Workshop in Bangkok with Audrey Li! Audrey shared with us wonderful knowledge and great tips about how we can kick chemicals to the curb with our favorite kit oils, we learnt about Young Livings integrity and dedication to the seed-to-seal promise, we even saw first hand the wonderful results of K.Nap experiment with Thieves and a piece of bread!

For the make and take, we made Peppermint cooling sprays, BugOff rollers and a jewelry cleaner made with our very versatile Thieves Cleaner!

We had 20+ people attending despite the pouring rain! Overall a great success, we were having such a good time we forgot to take more pictures 😂!!!! Thank you very much to everyone who attended with such open minds, those who generously brought friends so they could also learn about these amazing oils, we even had friends who travelled all the way from Pattaya to join us 🙏🏻 and a big thank you to Audrey for joining us from Singapore. Looking forward to planning our next event soon! 😁

As always please feel free to message me or the person who added you to this group any questions you may have, we’d be happy to answer them! Have a fab week!

Love,
Rachel

What are Harmful Chemicals?

What are Parabens?

Parabens are a class of widely used preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They’re chemicals found in beauty products to prevent bacteria and act as a preservative in deodorants, lotions, lipsticks, shampoos, scrubs, and more.

Are Parabens Safe?

Studies have shown that some parabens can mimic the activity of the hormone estrogen and can potentially cause hormone (endocrine) system disruptions in the body’s cells. Estrogenic activity is associated with certain forms of breast cancer, and parabens have been found present in breast tumors.

What is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (commonly known as SLS) is a widely used and inexpensive chemical found in many personal hygiene products such as shampoos, toothpastes, mouthwashes, soaps, detergents, scalp treatments, hair color, bleaching agents, laundry detergents, make-up foundations and body wash.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a detergent and surfactant which essentially means that it breaks creates a lather which makes products such as shampoo and toothpaste more effective cleaners.

Although SLS originates from coconuts, the chemical is anything but natural. The real problem with SLES/SLS is that the manufacturing process (ethoxylation) results in SLES/SLS being contaminated with 1,4 dioxane, a carcinogenic by-product.

Is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate safe?

According to the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Reviews, research studies on SLS have shown links to:

  • Irritation of the skin and eyes
  • Organ toxicity
  • Developmental/reproductive toxicity
  • Neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption, ecotoxicology, and biochemical or cellular changes
  • Possible mutations and cancer

What Is Triclosan?

Image taken from https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com

Triclosan is an ingredient added to many consumer products intended to reduce or prevent bacterial contamination. It is added to some antibacterial soaps and body washes, toothpastes, and some cosmetics—products regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It also can be found in clothing, kitchenware, furniture, and toys—products not regulated by the FDA.

How Safe Is Triclosan?

It is linked to liver toxicity, and even low levels of Triclosan may disrupt thyroid function. Further, the American Medical Association recommends that Triclosan not be used in the home, as it may encourage bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

Wellness Starts from home

Like anything, the more we arm ourselves with information the more inclined we are to make a change and we hope that your decision to live toxic free at home would inspire someone else to do the same. It is actually not hard to go toxic free as you know Young Living has formulated products to take over the dangerous chemical products that you are currently using today.

Try it for yourself. We will be giving free sample Household Cleaners for you to take home for those who attend our Toxic Free Home Workshop.
